Sibu, 29 April 2025 – The Sarawak Rivers Board (SRB) convened a discussion session with key stakeholders from various state government agencies to address issues related to sand dredging activities in the Batang Rajang River.

The primary objective of the engagement was to gather insights and perspectives from each participating agency concerning the ongoing issue of non-compliance by vessels involved in sand dredging operations. The session also aimed to explore collaborative solutions and chart a constructive path forward to resolve these compliance challenges.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Leonard Luhat Laing of the Sarawak Rivers Board and was attended by representatives from Land and Survey Sarawak, the Sarawak Coast Guard, the Marine Department (Sarawak Region), the Marine Police, and Magna Focus Sdn. Bhd.
