KUCHING, 9th December 2025 – The Sarawak Rivers Board (SRB), led by the Controller, Lt. Col. Ding Tiew Wong (Retired), together with senior officers, received a delegation from the Lembaga Urus Air Selangor (LUAS) at the Sungai Sarawak Barrage, as part of the implementation of the Pelan Pengurusan Bersepadu (IRBM) Lembangan Sungai Langat, Sungai Klang dan Sungai Selangor (2022-2030).

The Benchmarking Programme aimed to observe best practices and river management approaches implemented by SRB, particularly in river safety, activity regulation, enforcement, as well as river operations and traffic management.

The LUAS delegation was led by Mdm. Haslina Binti Amer, Senior Assistant Director, River and Coastal Basin Management Division, LUAS, along with technical officers from relevant departments/agencies involved in the implementation of the IRBM Plan in Selangor.

The official briefing was delivered by Lt. Col. Ding Tiew Wong (Retired), covering SRB’s role in supervising river operations in Sarawak, strategies for safety management and activity regulation, as well as an overview of the Sungai Sarawak Regulation Scheme (SSRS).

The Benchmarking Programme provided a platform for knowledge and experience sharing between the two agencies, strengthening technical collaboration to enhance the effectiveness of integrated and sustainable river basin management.

SRB expressed its appreciation to LUAS for the visit of the delegation and hopes that such strategic cooperation will continue in the future.
