KUCHING, 13 October 2026 – The Sarawak Rivers Board (SRB) held an engagement session with Jurutera TCS Sdn. Bhd. at the SRB Headquarters at 3.30 p.m. to discuss navigational requirements for road development projects under the Highland Development Agency (HDA), involving the proposed road links between Miri–Marudi, Marudi–Mulu (Kuala Melinau), and Long Lama–Long Panai (MMMLL).

The session was chaired by the Assistant Controller (Riverine Safety) and attended by the Marine Officer. Jurutera TCS Sdn. Bhd. was represented by Mr. Charles Edward, accompanied by the company’s Senior Engineer.

The engagement session focused on four bridges associated with the proposed road development projects, namely Sungai Bakong Bridge, Sungai Temala Bridge, Sungai Tutoh Bridge 1, and Sungai Tutoh Bridge 2.

Discussions centred on the navigational requirements for the proposed bridges, particularly the required navigational clearance height and width to facilitate safe river navigation. The session also provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange technical information and clarify the requirements to be considered during the planning and design stages of the proposed bridge structures.

The engagement underscores SRB’s commitment to working closely with consultants and relevant stakeholders to ensure that navigational safety requirements are adequately addressed in infrastructure development projects involving Sarawak’s inland waterways.

The engagement session adjourned at 4.30 p.m.
